Vice Chairman Velon M. Jose from the Tohono O'odham Nation
The keynote speaker for the César Chávez Breakfast to be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Glendale Civic Center is Vice Chairman Verlon M. Jose from the Tohono O’odham Nation in southern Arizona. He has a long career in public service. He has served as a Legal Assistant for the Nation’s Office of Attorney General, as a Tribal Court Advocate, and as Chairman of the Chukut Kuk District Council and Chairman of the Tohono O’odham Legislative Council. He has also served as President of the Baboquivari Unified School District. Mr. Jose was elected Vice Chairman of the Tohono O’odham Nation in 2015 and is serving his first term.
